5 holiday baking recipes to make and freeze right now!

Hi friends,

Are you looking to get a start on your holiday baking?

We love to have some baking done in advance of that December calendar flip so that we can enjoy even more holiday events and traditions. There's also the practical side of things - we love having treats in our freezer, ready to pull out when company stops by... or whenever we have a craving!

Today we're sharing recipes for bite-sized baking that you can pop in your freezer and have at the ready!

Tips for freezing the recipes below...

1) Use good quality, well-sealing, freezer-friendly containers for ultimate freshness.

2) Freeze cookies unglazed and unfrosted.

3) Freeze like-flavours together (i.e. don't freeze shortbread with your spiced cookies).

4) Use wax paper or parchment paper between the layers as moisture can form when thawing - you don't want those cookies to stick!

5) Thaw in the fridge for maximum freshness (slow-thaw) or at room temperature.

Want the ease of freezing cookies but still want them to be fresh? We've noted how to freeze and bake fresh where/when you can!

We can't get enough of these crispy on the outside, soft and fudgy on the inside Chocolate Crinkle Cookies. They look beautiful on a holiday platter - a brownie-like cookie that's been dusted with snow! ❄️

Freeze this dough and then thaw in the fridge if you'd like to save time but still have fresh baked cookies. If you bake the cookies ahead of time and then freeze them, be sure to thaw them in a single layer. This will prevent the powdered sugar from disappearing as they thaw.

Indulge yourself with these incredible Peanut Butter Balls. All you need are a handful of ingredients to mix, chill, roll, and dip your way to holiday-(no)bake heaven!

Make these in their entirety, then freeze!

The name of these Easy Sugar Cookies says it all - and they have the fluffiest whipped frosting ever! Be sure to follow my best drop sugar cookie baking tips in the post.

You can bake, then freeze these cookies (before frosting). If you'd like to freeze the dough as one large batch, thaw before rolling into cookie balls. Alternatively, freeze the dough in individual cookie balls then remove from the freezer, press, and bake as directed.

These Peppermint Chocolate Snowball Truffles are bite-sized magic and made extra creamy with a special ingredient that might catch you by surprise! (These truffles are great to make with kids.)

Make these truffles in their entirety, then freeze!

If you're a caramel lover, you'll want these Butter Pecan Cookies on a holiday cookie tray for sure! They're a deliciously sweet and nutty treat. Feel free to drop these cookies by the spoonful onto the cookie sheet or roll them into balls.

Bake these cookies then freeze, minus the caramel and toppings (add these once thawed). For fresh baked cookies later, freeze the dough as one piece or roll into 18 cookie balls before freezing.

What's your favourite treat to make for the holidays? We'd love to know!

Cheers,

Chrissie Baker
